.I spent most of my life searching; at the time I wasn’t sure what for
My life was not so bad back then, but still I was longing for more
My life took so many twists and turns; so many detours and dead ends
I lost so many people I loved; a brother, a son, some family and friends
I finally hit rock bottom; I knew I needed to make a choice
I heard someone calling to me, but I didn’t recognize his voice
I went to church with a friend one day’ but inside I was really scared
The congregation sang beautiful songs, and the pastor his wisdom shared
The invitation was “Just as I Am”, and my heart began to pound
I went crying to the altar, and there my Lord I found
Now that search is over, but still there is something more
I want to seek His will for me; to see what He has in store
I find if I just ask Him, he gives exactly what I need
It’s at exactly at the right time, in His every word and deed
A friend told me about a special thing one day as we sat to talk
He said it is a special time with God; it’s called the Emmaus Walk
This is a time to find God’s will deep within myself
He has given me more clarity; and a box full of His wealth
Immediately when I got here, I made a new best friend
She and I, and so many others will continue as friend till the end
This has been the greatest thing I’ve done in my walk with my dear Lord
I’ve come to love these dear sisters (and brothers) as we’ve served God in one accord
I’m so full of His blessings; my cup runneth over as they say
I’m happy, glad, and a little sad on this, the final day
I have so many more words and thoughts; this is a tiny part of our story
But, I’ll share it all, and so much more someday when we have more time in GLORY!!
